Welcome to a meeting of the Indian Wells City Council.

Public Comments: Members of the Public who wish to speak should fill out a blue slip and submit it to the City Clerk, comments are limited to 3 minutes. In accordance with State Law, remarks during public comment are to be limited to subjects within the City's jurisdiction.

CONSENT CALENDAR

All matters listed on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and will be approved by one motion.  Reading of text of Ordinances is waived and Ordinances are adopted as second reading, by title only.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless members of the Council request specific items be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate discussion and action.

• RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

  Council RECEIVES and FILES the City Treasurer’s Report for December 2023.

Ordinance Amending Sections 21.60.020, 21.60.080., 21.90.030, and Adding Section 21.60.085 to the Zoning Code Relating to City Landscape Requirements and Finding the Action to be Categorically Exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act

• RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

  Council ADOPTS Ordinance No. 752 by title only and waives further reading, amending Sections 21.60.020, 21.60.080., 21.90.030, adding Section 21.60.085 to the Zoning Code relating to City landscape requirements and finding the action to be categorically exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act.

Council Member Attendance at 2024 Event

• RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

  Council APPROVES the attendance of Councilmember Peabody to attend the 2024 Living Desert event as identified in the staff report.

Update to Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

• RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

  Council ADOPTS Resolution adopting the 2023 update to the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Annex to the Riverside County Operation Area Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan as required by the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.

Readoption of the City’s Investment Policy

• RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

  Council READOPTS the City’s Investment Policy as presented; and
  
  FINDS the project to be exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15060.

GENERAL BUSINESS

The Mayor will call upon the members of the public to address the Council regarding the agenda item being considered. After the public has provided comment, the item is closed to further comment and brought to the Council for discussion and action.

BNP Paribas Open City of Indian Wells’ Suite Food and Beverage Service

• RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

  Council DISCUSSES and PROVIDES direction as to any changes to the level of food and beverage service for the 2024 BNP Paribas Open.
